From the home-technology company I help run · ops visibility

“Where’s my order?” — answered before anyone asks.

When your projects depend on parts from a dozen suppliers, somebody spends real hours logging into vendor portals to ask the same question.

The problem

Our projects can't move without gear — and the gear comes from eleven different vendors, each with its own portal, login, and way of saying “it shipped.” With around 50 orders open at any given time, project managers were spending hours a week portal-hopping, and the answer was stale by lunch.

What runs

The fix was one idea, repeated:

The numbers

~3–4 hours a week of portal-checking, gone ~50 active orders, one page 11 vendors, watched automatically

The honest part

Here's the teachable part: this was never one big integration project. It was the same small watcher built eleven times, one vendor at a time, each useful the day it shipped. Big-bang integrations fail in committee; small watchers go live on a Tuesday.
This runs in my own operation today.

Not a brochure case study — a system I depend on. If you've got a version of this problem in your business, the Walk-Through finds it: a ranked list of the small wins sitting in your operation, no obligation to build any of it.
