From the home-technology company I help run · expenses

The receipt chase, automated.

Company-card reconciliation is a monthly scavenger hunt: a statement full of charges and a dozen people who swear they'll send the receipt.

The problem

Whoever owns reconciliation inherits the worst recurring chore in the building. Between chasing receipts through the month and the end-of-month crunch, it was easily 10 hours a week — and at month-end it could swallow a full week of one person's time, parsing the statement, hunting receipts, nagging cardholders, and assembling something the books could absorb.

What runs

The pipeline now:

The numbers

~10 hours a week of chasing, gone Month-end no longer eats a person's whole week The follow-up never forgets

The honest part

Approving expenses stayed a human call. What got automated is the chasing — the part that burned hours and goodwill. That split (machine does the when, humans keep the judgment) is the rule we build everything by.
This runs in my own operation today.

Not a brochure case study — a system I depend on. If you've got a version of this problem in your business, the Walk-Through finds it: a ranked list of the small wins sitting in your operation, no obligation to build any of it.
